For many people, traveling all over the world has become a habit because of how accessible and inexpensive it is. While people can be divided over the impact of a reduction in the obstacles and difficulties involved in international travel, I affirm that such a change is positive.

On the one hand, negativity certainly arises as a result of this development. As more transportation activities occur to accommodate people’s demands, the greenhouse effect is likely to intensify. Commercial flights, for instance, generate massive amounts of emission into the atmosphere, among which there are greenhouse gasses, which cause heat to be trapped and raise global temperature. Furthermore, some have voiced their concerns that increases in international travel’s ease and affordability may erode many traditional cultures. They argue that as host nations open up to welcome and provide service to the influx of new visitors, these countries might inadvertently turn themselves into homogeneous economic zones. National identities may fade this way, and soon, countries might only become distinguished by their flags.

Nevertheless, the possible advantages created by the change are significant. Contrasting the environmental impact, various industries can be cultivated, providing employment opportunities and stimulating economic growth. This would be especially true for the transportation, hospitality, and catering sectors, as these sectors tend to rely heavily on passing trade. Additionally, the decrease in cost and difficulty of international travel can actually be an opportunity to celebrate cultural diversity on the planet. It only takes the host countries to promote their traditions and customs to the tourists as the main attraction; this way, such a decrease enables people to expand the breadth of their cultural knowledge, instead of posing a threat to unique cultures. Therefore, the benefits of the aforementioned development would overshadow the drawbacks.

In my opinion, an improvement in international travel’s accessibility and affordability is largely positive, both economically and culturally. Because of the existing concerns, however, it is ultimately essential to ensure such a development unfolds in a sustainable and culturally-minded manner.
