Back when I was in high school, there was a common rule that the students were not allowed to use any kind of cosmetics or dye their hair and I think this still prolongs until this day. Most of the time, this would target the girls more since they like to wear light make-up, and you know, they want to look beautiful.

But the thing is that I always consider this rule unrealistic to students in general as it does not correlate to the expectations that society sets on one’s appearance, especially women. However, there's an unspoken rule that women must look decent at their workplace, including having makeup and wearing fashionable clothes, which contradicts the regulations in 12 years of compulsory education.

I get that the teachers don't want the students to be distracted from the studying process, but if the teachers can explain it better, the teenagers wouldn't feel forced to abide by the rules. Well, the regulations were counterproductive to what the adults expected the students to behave as some girls put their lipstick on after the break.

Instead of forbidding makeup, teachers should have given the instruction more clearly. For example, they can give reasons why using cosmetics at an early age is harmful or why the time spent studying is still the priority for teenagers. Another idea is that the school board can organize workshops that guide students how to use cosmetics in appropriate contexts.

In the end, I would say that I do not like this rule, but if there's comprehensive instruction, it would be much better for teenagers to penetrate teachers' decisions.

Being punctual would be the first rule that students should adhere to as this could help them practice discipline when they enter the labor market in the future. Another regulation that is worth mentioning is the rule of respecting the school's properties like chairs and tables, which raises the awareness of vandalism.

2. Do people often violate the rules in Viet Nam?

Most of the time, they find the helmet quite irritating to wear as it somewhat ruins the hairstyle.

3. What rules should children follow at home?

There's actually one rule that the kids should stick to is telling or even asking their parents before they go out. This should be their fixed habit when they go to work in the future as they are willing to build plans and tell their leaders. Moreover, when the children tell their parents beforehand, the adults would not feel worried when the kids go out.
