I. Reported speech คืออะไร

Reported speech หรือ indirect speech คือประโยคที่รายงานคำพูดโดยอ้อม ซึ่งคำพูดที่อ้างถึงจะไม่ถูกใส่เครื่องหมายคำพูด

II. If Clause ภาษาอังกฤษคืออะไร

ด้านล่างนี้ PREP จะแนะนำให้คุณรู้จักกับ If Clause ภาษาอังกฤษในโครงสร้างประโยคเงื่อนไขที่พบบ่อย มาดูกันเลย!

1. ประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 1 (if clause type 1)

โครงสร้างของ If Clause ในประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 1 คืออะไร มาเรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับมันกันเลย!

• ประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 1 เป็นโครงสร้างประโยคที่ใช้ทำนายการกระทำ เหตุการณ์ หรือสถานการณ์ที่อาจเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตหากมีเงื่อนไขหนึ่งที่เกิดขึ้นก่อน

• เมื่อแปลงประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 1 ในแบบตรงไปยัง Reported speech ผู้เรียนต้องใช้ประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 2

โครงสร้างของ If Clause	If S + V (s,es), S + will + V-infinitive. ➞ S + said that + If S + V2/ed, S + would + V-infinitive.
ตัวอย่างประโยค if clause type 1	Anna said: “If I have free time, I will cook all day and experiment with new recipes.” ➞ Anna said that if she had free time, she would cook all day and experiment with new recipes. (Anna บอกว่าถ้าเธอมีเวลาว่าง เธอจะทำอาหารทั้งวันและลองสูตรใหม่ๆ)

2. ประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 2 (if clause type 2)

ประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 2 เป็นประโยคที่ใช้เพื่ออธิบายการกระทำ/เหตุการณ์/สถานการณ์ที่อาจไม่เกิดขึ้นในอนาคตโดยอิงจากเงื่อนไขบางประการที่ไม่เป็นจริงในปัจจุบัน

เมื่อแปลงประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 2 ในแบบตรงไปยัง Reported speech ผู้เรียนต้องคงรูปกริยาเดิมไว้ ซึ่งแตกต่างจากประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 1

3. ประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 3 (if clause type 3)

ประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 3 เป็นประโยคที่ใช้เมื่อผู้พูดจินตนาการถึงผลลัพธ์ของเหตุการณ์/สถานการณ์/การกระทำที่ไม่เป็นจริงในอดีต

คล้ายกับประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 2 เมื่อแปลงประโยคเงื่อนไขประเภทที่ 3 ในแบบตรงไปยัง Reported speech ผู้เรียนต้องคงรูปกริยาเดิมไว้

4. ประโยคเงื่อนไขที่เป็นคำถาม 

เมื่อแปลงประโยคตรงที่เป็นคำถามและมี If clause เป็น Reported speech, If clause จะถูกวางไว้ท้ายประโยค เช่น:

• Jack asked Jennie: “What will you do if you’re on vacation?” ➞ Jack asked what Jennie would do if she was on vacation. (Jack ถาม Jennie ว่าเธอจะทำอะไรถ้าเธอไปพักร้อน)

If Clause (whether) มักใช้กับคำถาม Yes/No หรือคำถามเลือกที่ใช้ "or" เช่น:

• Anna asked John, “Are you coming to the party?”➞ Anna asked John if/whether he was coming to the party. (Anna ถาม John ว่าเขาจะมางานเลี้ยงหรือเปล่า)

แบบฝึกหัดที่ 1: แปลงประโยคคำพูดตรงต่อไปนี้เป็นประโยค If Clause

1. Anna said, "If I win the lottery, I can afford that expensive car."

2. John asked, "If it snows tomorrow, will the flight be delayed?"

3. They said, "If she doesn’t arrive on time, she will miss the meeting."

4. Jack asked, "If you had one wish, what would you wish for?"

5. Nicki said, "If I meet Jack in the school, I will invite him to our home.”
