根據英文最常被翻成 according to 或 根據英文 based on——但台灣學習者最常犯的錯是把這兩個混用。According to 是「引述他人說的資訊」；based on 是「根據數據或證據自己推論」。 除了這兩個，「根據」在不同語境下還有另外 8 種精確說法：in accordance with、pursuant to、as per、in light of、given、per、in view of、on the basis of。

According to 是「根據英文」中使用頻率最高的說法，核心語義是「引述某個來源說過或寫過的資訊」。這個來源可以是人、機構、媒體、報告或規定。

例如：

關鍵限制——不能用自己當來源：

4. Pursuant to

Pursuant to 是「根據英文」中正式程度最高的說法，幾乎只出現在法律文件、官方聲明、政府公告和高度正式的書面語境中。 在日常英語和商業 Email 中幾乎不用，但在法律英語和官方文件中是標準用語。

Pursuant to + 法律 / 條款 / 協議 / 命令，行動或聲明

例如：

Pursuant to 和 In accordance with：兩者都很正式，但 pursuant to 更傾向「依據特定條款或命令行事」，常見於法律文件的行為說明；in accordance with 更傾向「遵照規定或政策的合規說明」，在商業文件中也常見。

5. As per

As per 是商業英語中表示「按照」的慣用說法，語氣正式但比 in accordance with 和 pursuant to 更口語化，是 TOEIC 和職場英語最常見的「根據」說法之一。

As per + 合約 / 指示 / 討論 / 要求 / Email，行動說明

台灣職場常用：As per your email / As per our meeting 是台灣外商公司 Email 中出現頻率非常高的說法，比 According to your email 更簡潔，語氣也更職業化。

6. In light of

In light of 的核心語義是「考慮到某個新的資訊或情況，因此做出調整或決定」——它暗示了「因為有了這個新資訊，所以情況有所改變」。這個語義方向讓它和 given 略有不同：in light of 更常用於新發現改變了既有判斷的情境。

7. Given (that)

Given 是根據英文片語中適用語境最廣的一個——從日常口語到 IELTS 學術寫作都可以使用，而且比 in light of 更口語。後面可接名詞片語英文（given + 情況）或英文子句（given that + 完整子句）。

8. Per

Per 是「按照」的極度精簡版，幾乎只出現在高度正式的書面通知、法律備忘錄和官方指令中。 它是 as per 的更精簡形式，語感更冷淡、更官方，日常口語和商業 Email 中一般不用（as per 更自然）。

Per + 指示 / 協議 / 慣例 / 文件，行動說明

例如：

• Per the attached agreement, the following terms apply.（按照附件協議，以下條款適用。）  ——  法律備忘錄

Per 和 As per： 意思相同，但 as per 在現代商業英語中更自然、更常用；per 顯得更古板和正式，多出現在法律文件或舊式商業書信中。

9. In view of

In view of 和 in light of 意思很接近，但語義重心略有不同： in view of 更常用於「鑑於某情況，因此採取某行動或做出某決定」，著重說明決策的原因；in light of 則更強調「新資訊改變了原有判斷」。

On the basis of 和 Based on：兩者意思相同，但 based on 更口語、更通用；on the basis of 更正式、更學術，適合出現在正式報告或學術文章的引言和結論段落。
