I. Absolute Phrase ภาษาอังกฤษคืออะไร

Absolute Phrase คือกลุ่มคำที่เพิ่มความหมายให้กับประโยคทั้งหมด  Absolute Phrase ประกอบด้วยนามและวลีกริยาโดยปกติ ตัวอย่างเช่น:

• The artist painted, her hand gliding across the canvas in a creative dance. (ศิลปินวาดภาพ มือของเธอเลื่อนไปบนผืนผ้าใบเหมือนเต้นอยู่) ➞ “The artist painted” เป็น Absolute Phrase 
• Her engagement ring sliding loosely on her finger, Jenny placed it in her jewelry box before exercising. (แหวนหมั้นของเธอหลวมเลื่อนไปมาบนนิ้ว Jenny วางมันลงในกล่องเครื่องประดับก่อนที่จะออกกำลังกาย) ➞ “Her engagement ring sliding loosely on her finger” เป็น Absolute Phrase 

II. ประเภทของ Absolute Phrase ภาษาอังกฤษ

1. นาม + วลีกริยา

Absolute Phrase ภาษาอังกฤษที่มีความหมายแบบกระทำเป็นประเภทที่พบบ่อยที่สุด โดยเฉพาะในประโยคที่รวมสองข้อให้เป็นหนึ่ง เช่น:

• Jack’s homework completed, he went to bed at midnight. (Jack ทำการบ้านเสร็จแล้ว เขาไปนอนตอนเที่ยงคืน)
• Maria stands alone by herself, her hair fluttering in the wind. (Maria ยืนคนเดียว ผมปลิวไสวในลม)

2. สรรพนาม + to + กริยา

Absolute Phrase นี้ประกอบด้วยสรรพนามที่ตามด้วย “to + กริยา” เช่น:

• We all filed out, some to come back home, others to gather at the bookshop. (เราทุกคนเดินออกมา บางคนกลับบ้าน คนอื่นๆ รวมตัวกันที่ร้านหนังสือ)
• My friends have different hobbies, some to love painting, others to enjoy singing. (เพื่อนของฉันมีงานอดิเรกที่ต่างกัน บางคนรักการวาดภาพ คนอื่นๆ สนุกกับการร้องเพลง)

3. นาม/สรรพนาม + วลีบอกที่ตั้ง/คุณศัพท์

Absolute Phrase นี้รวมนามหรือสรรพนามกับวลีบอกที่ตั้งหรือคุณศัพท์ เช่น:

• Alex was waiting, (with) his eyes on the sky. (Alex กำลังรอ ด้วยดวงตาจับจ้องไปที่ท้องฟ้า)
• Jennie determination stronger than ever, she decided not to give up until she had achieved her dreams. (ความมุ่งมั่นของ Jennie แน่วแน่มากกว่าเดิม เธอตัดสินใจไม่ยอมแพ้จนกว่าจะบรรลุฝัน)

III. วลีทั่วไปใน Absolute Phrase ภาษาอังกฤษ
