This reminds me of quite a hilarious trip in which I got lost because of getting directed wrongly. It happened on a hiking trip with a group of friends and we failed to get to our set out destination. 

As none of us had ever been to the hiking area before and the 4G signal was really poor for us to use Google maps as it was quite a remote mountainous area, we relied on the guidance of a friend at home. He had just had his trip there last week so we bet his memory must have still been vivid. He was confident at first, really assertive of what he was telling us to follow and affirmed that we’d need only an hour to get there.

However, after one and a half hour or so of walking and stopping here and there to take photos, we didn't see any sign of the place we were supposed to be there by that time. It felt like we were still marching around the mountain foot. We would want to call back to the friend but, unfortunately, there was no signal by that time. Some of us got a bit frustrated, but most of all, we hadn't even realised we were lost because we had been quite immersed yourself in the once-in-a-while opportunity to be out in the fresh air. We didn't even feel the rush of getting to the mountain top. After another 30 minutes of trying to find the way in vain, we decided to head back home. 

Later that day, we learned that my friend missed the point where we had to take a turn, which we had noticed but skipped because he hadn't mentioned anything about it. Nevertheless, tired as we may have been because of too much walking, we still felt like we had a blast because we joked and laughed a lot during and after the trip. We planned another trip with a more well-prepared itinerary a week later.

1. Why are some people good at giving information to others?

If giving information is in terms of telling people about something, I think some people are good at this because they have a good memory and communication skills. Good memory helps them to retain what they have experienced or learned for a long time, so they might easily pass it on to others when they are asked later almost immediately. Good communication ability helps people to get their ideas across in a comprehensible and approachable manner, so when they need to provide information to others, people might acquire that better.

2. Why do people not trust online information?

I think it is because the Internet nowadays is overflowing with loads of biased and faked news that can be misleading or manipulative. It is crafted that way for many reasons, some of which is to draw more attention or for profits. Therefore, information found online loses their credibility and exacerbates people's skepticism.

3. What kinds of jobs need to give information to others?

Well, I suppose all sorts of jobs can involve giving information to others because information is embedded in everything. But this might be more prominent in some jobs than in the others. The first kind of profession that comes to my mind is consulting. Consultants need to give advice to their clients, so they are required to have information about the kind of issue the clients need consulting on. The other sort of job is customer service staff, who are paid to support their customers with all sorts of issues they may encounter with the service or product provided by their employers. In order to do so, they need to have information about their company’s products or service and the way to tackle the problems.

4. How can people identify whether the information is correct or not?

There are a few ways to determine the reliability of some information. First, we can look at the author of the news or article that provides the information to see if he or she has credentials in the field of the information. The other thing to do is to check for the accuracy of details in the information itself, such as data, statistics or specific names.
