Crucial TOEIC Part 5 vocabulary to master for the latest test format
Although Part 5 is the first section of the TOEIC Reading test, it is not necessarily the easiest. The new TOEIC format features a mix of easy and challenging questions, requiring test-takers to be well-prepared. In particular, Part 5 vocabulary has been significantly "upgraded" compared to the previous format, making it essential to build a strong and extensive vocabulary base.
To help with this, PREP has compiled a comprehensive list of essential TOEIC Part 5 vocabulary. Make sure to save these words and study them effectively!

I. Structure of TOEIC Part 5
Before diving into vocabulary, it's crucial to understand the structure of Part 5 in the updated TOEIC format, which has been in effect since June 1, 2019. In the new format, the number of questions in Part 5 has been reduced from 40 to 30.
With a total of 75 minutes allocated for the entire TOEIC Reading section (Parts 5, 6, and 7), the recommended time to complete Part 5 is about 20 minutes—roughly 30 seconds per question. However, depending on the difficulty of each question and your test-taking skills, the time spent on each item may vary.
