One job that I would not like to do is working as a sewer maintenance worker. I've learned about this job through documentaries and news articles, and it appears to be a very challenging and unpleasant profession.

Maintaining sewers involves entering underground tunnels and pipelines to clear blockages, repair damages, and ensure the proper functioning of sewage systems. The workers often have to deal with raw sewage, toxic gases, and cramped spaces. The conditions can be hazardous to health, and the work is physically demanding.

I consider it a difficult job because it requires individuals to work in uncomfortable and unsanitary environments, sometimes in extreme weather conditions. Moreover, the risk to one's health and safety is relatively high due to exposure to harmful substances and the potential for accidents. The primary reason I wouldn't want to do this job is the unfavorable working conditions and the potential health risks involved. I value a job that allows me to work in a clean, safe, and comfortable environment, which is not the case for sewer maintenance workers. Additionally, the nature of the work is not aligned with my interests and preferences, as I would prefer a profession that involves less exposure to hazards and more opportunities for personal growth and satisfaction.

Im not sure though, but from my observations with those who live around me, I think both cases happen. Some left behind their bachelor's degrees, their office desks and stable income to deliver goods or ferry passengers around, as a trade-off for better earnings and more freedom. Many young Vietnamese start out working part-time with Grab, putting in a full-day in an office and then becoming a motorbike taxi driver in the evening. After a while, though, many decide to become full-time Grab riders.

Well, I think after the COVID pandemic, things have changed drastically; while a few job opportunities have expanded, the competitive job market and slow economic recovery post-pandemic witnessed a massive job loss, and many businesses have had to cut costs. So I guess securing employment today actually is more challenging than before, and the job-seeking process demands more adaptability and continuous skill development.

Lastly, don't forget to consider work-life balance and personal fulfillment. All these factors play a significant role in making a well-informed decision about your career.

It's crucial for individuals to adapt by acquiring skills in AI-related fields and for organizations to implement AI responsibly to ensure a positive impact on the workforce. So, AI's influence on work will likely be a mix of opportunities and challenges.
