HOW TO BOOST WRITING AND SPEAKING SKILLS IN JUST 3 MONTHS

Despite struggling with Writing and Speaking, Khoi Phan scored an impressive 7.5 IELTS Overall on his very first attempt. What was his secret?

The challenge of a high school senior

Khoi Phan is a 12th-grader specializing in IT at Chu Van An High School - a renowned gifted school in Vietnam. Needing an IELTS certificate urgently to complete his study abroad applications, Khoi was guided by his parents to enroll at Prep Edu.

With a strong language foundation, Listening and Reading were never a real problem for Khoi. His biggest challenge lay in Writing and Speaking. Although he rated his own level at around 7.0, his practice-test scores for these two skills stayed low. He also had to balance a busy school schedule. "My biggest difficulty was sometimes losing focus because of the noisy environment around me," Khoi shares. That is why he turned to Prep Edu to make studying easier and more manageable.

Practicing with Prep AI

Khoi Phan spent three months preparing with Prep Edu, studying 1-2 hours daily. Instead of studying aimlessly, he strictly followed Personalized Study Plan and Daily Task to keep all four skills balanced.

For Writing, he practiced in the Virtual Writing Room, focusing heavily on AI correction analysis and sentence upgrade suggestions. After each graded essay, Khoi noted down useful structures and high-value vocabulary to apply next time. "The AI scores highly accurately," he says. That accuracy showed him exactly where he stood and what to fix instead of guessing.

For Speaking, he built his reflexes in the Virtual Speaking Room. Prep's AI grades strictly, so he felt a little anxious at first. "But on the real exam I reached 7.0. That proves the foundation Prep Edu gave me was very solid," Khoi recalls.

For Reading and Listening, he applied the exact methods his teachers taught in the course and practiced them repeatedly through exercises and mock tests. "After about three weeks of continuous practice with this method, I saw my band score rise clearly," he says.

7.5 overall on the first attempt

Khoi achieved an overall 7.5 on his first try, scoring 8.5 in Listening, 7.5 in Reading, 7.0 in Speaking, and 6.5 in Writing. The two skills that once held him back both met his expectations. He plans to use this result to finalize his study abroad profile.

From his own experience, Khoi drew one piece of advice: "After finishing the theory lessons, take a full practice test right away to check where you are weak. From there, you'll know how to focus your effort more deeply on that skill. And Prep Edu helped me carry out that learning process far more systematically and easily."
